According to Brittany Smith, editor of Men’s Fitness, there are a number of foods which can help to fight fatigue, boost alertness, and fortify mental youthfulness. Here are a list of our top brain boosting foods as researched by Harvard University in 2015:

  • Olives are rich in polyphenols, which are powerful brain protective antioxidants.
  • Coconut oil provides saturated fat which is a nutrient for the function of brain cell membranes.
  • Wild salmon is a natural source of the omega-3 oil DHA which helps maintain brain cells.
  • Blueberries for brain-protective antioxidants. Blueberries also help to reduce inflammation.
  • Turmeric acts to turn on the parts of our DNA that help reduce inflammation.
  • Eggs are rich in choline and cholesterol which are important for brain cell membranes and serving as a brain-protective antioxidant.
