Study Club-Impression Taking for Hygienists and Therapists

This study club evening is the second in a series of four which will run throughout the year.  Our study clubs have been designed to give you the opportunity to learn about the latest developments in dental hygiene therapy, discuss cases and share experiences with like-minded individuals. We have hand picked opinion leaders in their subject to lead these evenings, all held in our relaxed friendly training centre.

Dr Susan Tanner, Specialist Prosthodontist will teach the importance of excellent impression taking and the best way to achieve this. This theory-led, fun and informative session will give confidence when taking impressions in the surgery. Alginate is the easiest impression material to perfect your impression taking technique. Susan believes that once confident you will be able to explore more advanced techniques using different materials.

Now devoting herself almost entirely to implant practice, Susan’s Masters Degree in Prosthetic Dentistry formed a cohesive platform for the vast number of full arch implant reconstructions she has carried out over more than 20 years, for both referring colleagues and for patients of The Dawood and Tanner Specialist Dental Practice.

As a Specialist in Prosthodontics, she has a particular interest in the implant rehabilitation of patients who have atrophic jaws, with the goal of always providing immediate fixed reconstructions, even where there is extensive resorption. Susan utilises the latest technology to plan and construct restorations, working in close conjunction with implant surgeons and laboratory technicians; she has done much to streamline the workflow and optimise outcome.

Susan takes great pleasure in teaching, lecturing regularly on prosthodontic aspects of implant dentistry in the UK and internationally, giving courses at the Dawood and Tanner Academy or working with small groups or on a one to one mentoring basis at the practice, helping the general dental practitioner to bring the benefits of implant treatments to their patients and their working life.
