1-Day Tooth Wear. Theory and Hands-on course.
The course aims to teach you how to diagnose and treatment plan tooth wear cases.
Who is this course for?
Dentists who wish to learn or improve their diagnostic and treatment planning skills. Dentists who want to expand their knowledge about tooth wear, its diagnosis and treatment planning. Course limited to 8–12 participants.
The reduced number of spaces ensures a personalised teaching.
This fun and practical comprehensive one-day course will give you confidence when diagnosing, treatment planning, preventing tooth wear and will help you understand better how it can be treated. It will be clinically orientated, and delegates will come away feeling more confident and better able to identify this increasingly common problem and then an intervention is required.

Objectives:
- Learn to confidently diagnose and manage localised and generalised tooth wear.
- Confidently plan your cases.
- Understand when we need to alter the vertical dimension and how this is carried out.
- Learn to carry out systematic photographic records and the benefits of digital smile design for patient communication and laboratory instructions.
- Understand the available restorative materials, their indications and adhesive protocols.
By the end of the course you will be able to:
- Understand better the signs of pathological tooth wear.
- Systematically plan your wear cases.
- Have a better understanding of the conservative techniques available to treat all cases of tooth wear, from mild to severe cases.

- Diagnostic tools: photography, articulated models, intra oral scanner, radiographic examination.
- Identifying wear and diagnosis of the patient:
- Types of tooth wear
- Tooth wear pattern
- Aesthetic assessment
- PLANNING STAGE:
- Clinical mock up – incisal display
- Diagnostic wax ups – need for gingival alteration
- Recording RCP/CR – vertical dimension
- Extension of the treatment and type of restoration
- TREATMENT STAGE (overview):
- Direct vs indirect restorations
- Dental preparation
- Rubber dam isolation
- Materials
- Adhesive techniques

After completion of the one day workshop, you will be required to build a patient portfolio to show your competence. Once verified, you will be awarded your certificate of competency.

Begonia has a Master’s Degree in Prosthodontics in the University of Valencia Spain during which she developed her photography skills and passion for managing wear in a comprehensive and conservative way. Photography, diagnostic wax ups and time are key elements for treatment planning and managing tooth wear cases, as well as the clinical skills involved in rubber dam placement and adhesive techniques. Begonia also carried out a Master of Science where she carried out research on the performance of conventional and cad cam aesthetic materials to understand better their behavior and indications.

Andrew has a special interest in dental cosmetics, composite resin bonding, complex rehabilitation including implants and management of tooth wear.
Andrew creates smiles that not only look naturally outstanding but also function efficiently and comprehensively.
Having studied all around the world Andrew’s interests and skills have led to attaining a Distinction in a double Masters of Clinical Dentistry as well as two further academic diplomas. He is also a Graduate of the Kois Centre, based in Seattle – of which only a handful have attained this 9-step level of training within the UK.
