Introduction Unit -Practical Practice Management

This introductory programme consists of 12 Guided Learning Hours (GLH) over two months to provide an introduction to dental practice management. The training is highly specialised and looks at structure, culture and  the work of dental teams. On completion you will be awarded 6 hours CPD- Leadership and Management 

The intention of the course is to provide a means by which participants can develop their knowledge, skills and role in the dental team.

Course Aims

To introduce participants to the required knowledge and understanding of leadership and ways that it links to the management process.

Course Objectives

Recognise key aspects of leadership and management

Understand how leaders influence team culture    

Be aware of how leaders and managers can motivate teamwork

Reflect on the skills of managers.

Introduction Unit -Practical Practice Management

Before starting the course participants are required to complete a pre-course learning needs and objective setting exercise.

The minimum age requirement for this course is 18 years.

Students must have:

  • They must have written confirmation from a supervising principle that they take responsibility for overseeing the students training in the workplace if necessary.
  • Be self-motivated.
  • Excellent level of English. You must be able to read, write and understand English fluently. Students may be asked to sit an entry test. The results of this will determine your progression through the course
